Time flies. Tomorrow we bid farewell to Year 2009 and welcome Year 2010. Someone casually asked my opinion about the 2012 doomsday prediction. Well, my answer is whether it will come true or not, life still goes on. Why should I fear about it if I can choose to be presently happy. Be joyful and healthy, that’s my personal goal in life. It has been my New Year resolution for these years. What’s yours?
Since...

I will be going back to Singapore tomorrow after 2 weeks holidaying in my hometown Penang. It has been a fantastic break for me. No cooking or houseworks. Best of all is to have many “part-time” caretakers (aka my family members) taking turns to entertain my little boy. What a great relief! LOL!
Nevertheless, we can’t wait to go back home and join the Christmas fun. The is the first Christmas...

I have been making scones quite often as they are extremely easy to make. Without having to bring out the electrical beater, I can easily whip up a batch of warm scones in no time for breakfast, brunch and teatime.
The key to the making of a good scone lies in the technique itself. Do not overwork the dough as it can make the scones hard.
This cranberry scone recipe is adapted from Farmgirl’s Cranberry...

Avocado 酪梨 (also known as butter pear 牛油果or alligator pear 鳄梨/) is rich in the antioxidants beta carotene, vitamins C and E, magnesium, potassium and monounsaturated fat which can boost your immune system.
Not only does it bring many health benefits to adults, it is an excellent weaning food for babies too. I introduced this fruit to my son when he got past 1 year old. He enjoys very much...

My daily schedule always goes haywire during my son’s school holidays. It’s no exception for this long year-end holiday. As expected, I hardly can find time to do my photo-shooting and blogging. My time has been “robbed’ so to speak. Whenever my son spots me using the computer, he will “bug” me like a buzzling bee! No way of escaping from his “radar screen”! HELP!
At the end of each...

“Do you know you can make a cheesecake without having to bake one? And, you don’t need to use an electrical mixer too!” said J.
“What? No oven? No electrical mixer? Are you sure?” said F4T.
This was my first re-action when J (an ex-colleague) shared her non-baked lemon cheesecake (a.k.a. icebox cheesecake) with me many years ago. As a person with zero knowledge in baking at the...

I love eating all kinds of tree nuts. Once I start munching them, I can never put a stop to it. Yes, I can go nuts on nuts! So too is my hubby. We are “NUTTY” people!
During festive seasons, we see wide selection of processed nuts at the supermarkets. We will be spoilt by choices. For the premium brands, the prices are not cheap as well. Because of that, we only consumed them sparingly and...

I brought my laptop with me during my recent holiday break in KL hoping to “squeeze” in some time to update my food blog. In the end, I decided to give my laptop a holiday break too. LOL!
Now that the holiday is over, it’s time to crank up my “engine” again and get back to my daily routine. I seriously MISSED the blogging world and can’t wait to share with you all the great recipes I tried and tested...

My first experience in tasting stir-fry udon was at a Chinese restaurant many years ago. After trying it out, I got hooked on udon, especially this stir-fry version even until now. But I never expect my son to also enjoy eating this fat and chewy noodle as much as I do. In fact, udon is his first choice among all Japanese noodles (such as somen, soba and ramen) on the menu at a Japanese restaurant when...

Early one morning, FEDEX delivered a parcel to my doorsteps. It was a box of triple chocolate brownies from someone special in London. They looked so delicious and inviting! Who can resist this sinful indulgence, especially when it comes to triple chocolate? Without a second thought, I quickly took one and put it into my mouth to savour. It was sooOOOoo delicious, moist, velvety…….. the best I had eaten...
