Ingredients:
140g pumpkin
200g cauliflower
140g minced meat (marinated with 2 tbsp light soya sauce, 1tsp sugar and cornflour)
1 red onion
Seasonings:
1½ tbsp oyster sauce
½ tbsp concentrated chicken stocks
½ tbsp sesame oil
Dash of pepper
Cornflour
Methods:
1. Heat up wok with oil. Sautee onion until transparent.
2. Add in minced meat. Spread it out evenly. Do not stir fry immediately. Let it cook for a few seconds until it is slightly caramelized. Flip it over and let it continue to cook for a while. This will increase the aroma of the minced meat. Reduce the heat to low and start breaking up the meat.
3. Add in cauliflower and stir fry for a while. Add a bit of water and cover with lid to simmer for a while.
4. Add in pumpkin and seasonings. Continue to simmer until the pumpkin is cooked (before it becomes too soft)
5. Add in cornflour for thickening.
The photo looks great and since my kids like both cauliflower and pumpkin, I tried it immediately. I had put in the cauliflower to stir-fry, then added the water when I realized that the pork mentioned in the ingredients was not mentioned at all in the method! So when and how do I cook the pork? (I’ve only just started learning cooking.)
Sandy: Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I had amended the steps. Happy trying! 😉
I have some cauliflower and pumpkin in the fridge and really do not know what to do with them. Will try this tonight!
Karen: Hope you would like it! 😉
My boys loved it! Kept asking for more 🙂
Karen: Wow! That sounds great! 😉
Hi, do i add the cornflour togather with the seasonings?
Jeslyn: Dilute cornflour with a bit water and add it at step 5. 😉
Hi … can i change the cauliflower to broccoli? Coz i still have it in my fridge 😉
Fifi Maria: I haven’t tried it myself. You can try but do not cook the broccoli for too long. Or else, they will turn brown and loss the valuable nutrient. 🙂
