RECIPE FOR MANGO LASSI

Serve: 2

Ingredients:
2 large fully ripen mangoes (about 430g) – peeled, removed and cut into chunks
8 tbsp plain yoghurt (note 1)
4 tbsp milk (preferably chilled)
6 small ice cubes (or crushed ice)
3 tbsp honey (more or less, depending on the type of mango)

Method:
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Adjust the sweetness if necessary. Pour into individual glasses and serve immediately. If not, keep in the refrigerator for later consumption. Best to be consumed within a day.

Notes:

  1. I used Greek style yoghurt which is creamier than normal yogurt.
  2. You can learn how to cut a mango from THIS LINK.
  3. If your blender is not suitable for crushing ice, then you have to crush them first by putting the ice cubes into a plastic bag and crush roughly with a mortar or rolling pin.
  4. Choose mango that is fully ripen, sweet, fragrant and less fibrous. I used Thailand honey mangoes.

u have any idea? 😀 thanks

    • food-4tots says:

Shia: Manuka and organic honey are more expensive. If your budget allows, go for it. But, I’m not sure which brand is good. So sorry about that. 😉

  17. Sara says:

Can this drink be created with a variation of any fruit? For instance, can I replace the mango with a peach and still get a delicious beverage? I love mango but I currently only have peaches! But this sounds so delicious I have to try it!

I’m so glad I came across this on tastespotting! (And a bit behind in the game, it seems–I read the Father’s Day bit and thought for a crazy moment that I’d completely mistaken the date!) My roommate has bestowed her old blender upon me, and I can’t wait to continue going overboard (*cue diabolical laughter*) with it with this mango lassi. And your boxes are absolutely gorgeous!

    • food-4tots says:

Ala: Thanks for dropping by!! So sorry to confuse you with a back-dated post. I’m sure you will going to love your new toy (old blender). Let’s this simple drink be your maiden attempt. 😉

  19. Sarah says:

It looks like so yummyy!! Can’t wait to give to ms. I guess I need to wait a couple of months since he’s still 10. At least that what I got from this article about when to give honey to babies
