Wan Chuen: The recipe I posted is based on cake making method whereas the one which used yeast is based on bread making method. Hence, they yield different results. If you're looking for yogurt substitution, you can refer to this link: http://bakingbites.com/2007/05/subbing-all-purpose-flour-for-cake-flour/. I personally think that you should stick to yogurt for best results. I haven't tried to substitute yogurt with other ingredients before. So you may need to do your own experiment. ;)

Hi can I replace the yogurt with something else? Saw on the website you recommended that used yeast, but am not sure of the measurements as one is dry and one is wet.

There is a good 6-donut pan by Norpro, sold online, at either Target or Amazon.com. Just do a search on 'donut' pan, and it should come up. I bought two. Also, I use the dessert decorator (by Wilton), to get the batter into the donut pan. I think you can buy one of those at Target or Michael's craft store. It works a bit quicker and is less messy than the bags. Then I smooth out the batter a little, using a small butterknife, before baking. Good luck!
